Welcome to my blog! Today I’m going to share a recipe for a delicious and indulgent treat: Brioche. This recipe is always a hit with my kids and it’s a great way to make breakfast or brunch extra special.
Brioche is a rich, buttery French bread that’s perfect for toast and French toast. It has a light and fluffy texture and it’s lightly sweetened with honey. It’s also great for making sandwiches and can be served with jam or honey.
When making brioche, it’s important to use good quality butter and to be sure to knead the dough until it’s smooth and elastic. The dough needs to rise overnight, so be sure to plan ahead.
Here’s the recipe:
Ingredients:
-3 cups all-purpose flour
-2 teaspoons instant yeast
-1 teaspoon salt
-1/4 cup honey
-3/4 cup warm milk
-4 large eggs
-1 cup unsalted butter, softened
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, yeast, and salt. Set aside.
2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the honey, warm milk, and eggs. Set aside.
3. Add the butter to the dry ingredients and mix until combined. Slowly add the wet ingredients and mix until a smooth dough forms.
4. Knead the dough for 10 minutes, or until it’s smooth and elastic. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in the refrigerator overnight (8-12 hours).
5. Grease two 9×5 inch (23×13 cm) loaf pans. Divide the dough in half and shape each piece into a loaf. Place the loaves in the prepared pans and let rise at room temperature for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the loaves for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the loaves to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
