Hi everyone, today I want to share with you a recipe that is always a hit with my kids. It’s a baked dish that’s perfect for dinner or lunch, and it’s really easy to make. Plus, it’s a great way to sneak some veggies into your kids’ diet!
This recipe is inspired by my daughter Emily, who loves broccoli. When she was younger, she used to refuse to eat anything green, but one day I decided to make this dish and she loved it. Now she asks me to make it all the time!
To start, you’ll need some flour, butter, milk, and cheese. You’ll also need some broccoli florets, but you could easily substitute this with other veggies like cauliflower or zucchini.
First, preheat your oven to 350°F. Then, melt some butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Once the butter has melted, add in some flour and whisk until it’s combined. Slowly pour in some milk while continuing to whisk until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Next, add in your chopped broccoli and stir until it’s coated in the sauce. Transfer everything into a baking dish and sprinkle some shredded cheese on top.
Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve hot and enjoy!
This dish is perfect for a quick and easy dinner, and it’s also great for leftovers. My kids love taking it to school for lunch the next day. Plus, it’s a great way to get some veggies into their diet without them even realizing it.
I hope you give this recipe a try and let me know how it turns out for you. Remember, you can always switch up the veggies and cheese to create different variations of this dish. Happy cooking!
